Okey Longboard Girls Crew, it’s time for me to say goodbye ♥️
It feels crazy to even write this.
After 10 insane, amazing and transformative years I’m stepping aside from running Longboard Girls Crew (LGC) to properly run my nonprofit Longboard Women United
I don’t even know where to start. What can I say about something that changed me and so many others around the world?
When we started this, female longboarding was barely a thing. And look at it now… I feel like my job here is done.
I could start with one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learnt, and that’s the relationship I have with other women.
10 years ago, I was not where I am today. I worked on shifting the sense of competition, feeling threatened or jealous of other women into the understanding that happiness comes when we truly support each other. It was a beautiful unlearning process and the impact of providing that example to the world through LGC is unmeasurable.
We talked about female and non-binary representation when no one did. Talked about menstruation and menstrual cups when it was not a thing. I gave two TEDx Talks and we were featured in all major media from around the world.
I guess I’ll never really know the impact LGC have had worldwide and that’s part of its magic.
I’ve been asking to the Universe to send someone who will continue our mission with devotion and selfness… and we finally found each other. Please welcome Isabella Motta as the new LGC director. Isa is Brazilian, living in Ireland (@lgcireland ambassador!) and beautifully committed to the cause. Isa, I’m so grateful for you, you don’t even know ♥️ I already know you’ll do amazing. It’s an incredibly challenging yet extraordinary journey. Enjoy, my friend!
To my sisters, all the ambassadors who felt, feel or will feel LGC as part of your life path: It was an honor and a privilege to walk this path together and I love you forever. I leave LGC knowing you’ll continue the expansion of the mission and values, anchoring the energy that lovingly transformed the life of so many.
To everyone who has ever helped somehow in the development of LGC: I’ve learned what a community means thanks to your selfless interest of contributing to something bigger than ourselves.
To the community. The hundreds of thousands of people who ride, follow, like, share or ever felt influenced by LGC: we built something beautiful all together and we’re all part of it. Communities are the pillar of the new world.
To Jacky Madenfrost, LGC Founder: Thank you.
This is a big learning process for me, detaching myself from a project so linked to the perception I have of myself. Quoting my fav book, the purest love lies where it is least expected: in unattachment.
I’ll be around. You will find me running Longboard Women and a new little project I have, sharing spiritual and conscious knowledge, guided meditations etc in a weekly newsletter that you can subscribe HERE
I gave LGC my all and in return, LGC gave me everything.
I wish I could tell my 10 year-old self what we would do and how happy we would be after all.
Humanity is capable of the most extraordinary things.

Longboard Girls Crew, es hora de decirte adiós ♥️
Qué extraño se me hace escribir esto, pero tras 10 maravillosos años al mando de Longboard Girls Crew (LGC) he decidido “retirarme” para centrarme en nuestra ONG Longboard Women.
No sé por donde empezar. ¿Qué decir de algo que me cambió la vida a mi y a tanta gente en todo el mundo?
Cuando empezamos, el longboard femenino casi no existía y mirad ahora… siento que mi trabajo aquí está hecho.
Uno de los aprendizajes más importantes que me llevo es mi relación con otras mujeres.
Hace 10 años no estaba donde estoy hoy y tuve que desaprender mucho de mi ego, no sentir competencia o amenazada por el éxito de otras mujeres… Aprendí que cuanto más nos apoyamos más oportunidades creamos para todas. Llevamos 10 años enviando ese mensaje desde de LGC y creo que el impacto a nivel social es invaluable.
Hablamos de representación femenina y no-binaria cuando nadie lo hacía, hablamos de menstruación y copas menstruales cuando no era popular, di dos charlas TEDx y salimos en casi todos los grandes medios del planeta.
Creo que nunca podremos medir el impacto real de LGC y supongo que eso es parte de la magia.
Llevo tiempo pidiendo al Universo que me cruce en el camino con alguien que quiera llevar nuestra misión con pasión y humildad… y así fue que nos cruzamos. ¡Bienvenida Isabella Motta, nueva directora de LGC! Isa es brasilera, vive en Irlanda (¡embajadora de LGC Irlanda!) y tiene un compromiso real y profundo con la causa. Isa, no sabes la ilusión que me hace todo esto ♥️ Sé que lo harás maravillosamente bien. Será un desafío pero también será maravilloso. Buen viaje, amiga!
A todas las embajadoras, mis maravillosas hermanas, que han sentido, sienten o sentirán LGC como parte de su camino de vida: ha sido un placer y un privilegio andar este camino juntas. Nos amo por siempre. Dejo LGC sabiendo que continuaréis con la expansión de nuestra misión y valores, anclando esa energía maravillosa que ya transformó la vida de tanta gente en todo el mundo.
A todes quienes hayan contribuido con el desarrollo de LGC de alguna manera: aprendí el sentido de lo que es una comunidad gracias a vuestras aportaciones desinteresadas en contribuir con algo más grande que nosotrxs.
A la comunidad. Las cientos de miles de personas que empezaron a patinar, siguen la pagina, comparten algo u os habéis sentido de alguna manera influenciadxs por LGC: entre todxs construimos algo maravilloso. Estoy convencida que las comunidades son el pilar del nuevo mundo.

Este es y será un gran proceso de desapego para mi, ya que la propia percepción que tengo de mi misma está muy apegada a LGC. Citando mi libro favorito: el amor más puro está donde menos te lo esperas: en el desapego.
No me iré lejos. Me encontraréis llevando Longboard Women y en un pequeño proyecto que estoy empezando, compartiendo en un newsletter semanal conocimiento espiritual, tips de vida consciente, meditaciones guiadas y varias cosas más. Podéis suscribiros AQUÍ.
Entregué mi vida a LGC, y a cambio LGC me cambió la vida..
Me gustaría contarle a la Valeria de 10 años lo que hicimos y lo feliz que terminaríamos siendo.
