Welcome ladies and gents to the 2nd Annual FUBU longboarding Race Weekend! Last year we had a resounding 30+ female longboarders that participated. This year will be even bigger and better! Once again, we’re presenting you a Saturday waterfront cruise, after-party, Sunday slalom, time trials and mellow racing with prizes galore! The current itinerary for this event goes as follows (NOTE, IT IS STILL QUITE TENTATIVE):
Saturday
3:30 pm: Sunset cruise on the waterfront. Meeting spot Spadina WaveDeck (the end of Spadina Ave.).
6:30 pm: Group dinner at TBD.
9:30 pm: After party at Club 54.
Sunday
12:00 pm: Registration
12:30 pm: Beginner/Advanced Timed Slalom
2:00 pm: Toonie Race Time Trials
3:00 pm: Bracketing/Break
3:30 pm: Races begin!
6:30 pm: Races end and prizes are given out!
On Sunday, we are hoping for music and food. (If any of you have a sound system hookup please contact us or post in the group) We will also have a board set-up clinic area where our man servants and fellow lady shredders will show you how to put together and take apart your boards, how to change your bearings, bushings and even grip tape if you want to learn.
Prizes this year are going to be given out via raffle tickets! You might ask how one might earn these raffle tickets? It’s simple really. All you have to do is participate in as many events as possible. For every event you participate in, you will receive a raffle ticket. If you come first, second or third in a competitive event, you will receive more raffle tickets so you have a greater chance to win. We will be capping how many prizes an individual can win so that we truly spread the stoke. 🙂
Finally, please share and encourage as many ladies as you can to come to this event even if they are just the slightest bit interested in longboarding. This will really be an awesome day filled with good vibes regardless of whether you skate or not…. but we hope you do skate or even just try to learn!
