Madrid Skate Film Festival

The Madrid Skate Film Festival (MSFF) is back this summer from July 5-7 after a very successful first edition.

The MSFF returns to Matadero’s warehouse to perform once again the screenings of 9 of the greatest skate films addressed to an -all age- eager and demanding audience. People not only interested in skateboarding films but in any kind of sports and music among other artistic disciplines.

This second year Matadero’s Warehouse, its Square and Cinemateca are premiering films and documentaries such as Berlin’s International Film Festival winner This Ain’t California directed by Marten Persiel; a retrospective of four of the best skateboarding productions including Thrashin’ by David Winters.

A wide range of activities, like round tables and spontaneous marathons will be introduced along the festival.

For the second year in a row the MSFF is doing the skate and longboard video contest where any video can take part following the contest rules. The rewarded categories will be Best Skate Film, Best Longboard Film, Best Edition, Special Festival Award & Best International Film, chosen by our juries, this year headed by skater Killian Martin among other well-known personalities linked to the skate and audiovisual scene.

MSFF 2013 is a high-quality film, sports and artistic proposal. It’s bold, original, entertaining and independent. A film festival that looks forward to become a Spanish standard.
