Since 2007 the Surf & Skate Festival tours annually through the German surfculture headquarters: Munich, Hamburg and Cologne and it offers its 15.000 visitors an unique program that can’t be found anywhere else in Germany – even throughout Europe without the “HHonolulu Events” signature.

HHonolulu Events represents a community of surfers, who turned their passion into profession and accompanied the progress of the German and European boardsport scene since 2005 intensively.

Surf & Skate Festival season 2014 has officially started. It’s getting serious! It’s getting hot but first and foremost it’s getting Bavarian. 11 days, more than 20 attractions across the Skate & Surf culture. One year after Garrett McNamara and Donavon Frankenreiter have put their infamous mark on the festival tour, we are on top of our game and want to raise even more attention. Surf & Skate Festival goes to its limit!

From the 15th until the 25th of May the Bavarian flag will be characterized by offshore and offers the surf-scene an interactive program, that brings back the tingle of the previous years. The Irish musician Wallis Bird will be opening the festival at 8.30pm at the “STROM”.

After a musical get-together the second day will be creative. At 8pm the Surf & Skate Vernissage at the Galerie “art:ig” will be opening the night. Alongside the Vernissage there will be the release party for the second festival issue of the “BYND THE SURFACE” magazine, which is back with broad articles and vacant photographs. The first 50 attendees will get the Surf & Skate magazine fresh from the press and for free.

Saturday the 17th of may the program will kick off at noon at the gallery and combines art with the most-talked about international surfbrands like DEUS Ex Machina (AUS), Pleasant (DK), Seventyone Percent (FR) and LGSc (GER) on 100sqm. Sporting the mantra self-design the festival will have a silkscreen workshop to design your own clothes.

At 2pm it’s time to get athletic for the city-longboard cruise. “Team Rhythmusgymnastik” will start the legendary “O’Neill Party presented by Planet Sports” right before midnight at the “STROM”.

Endless Roads will be featured in the Munich screening Sunday 25th!

After relaxing professional yoga classes in the morning, the afternoon gets loud for “Krach am Bach” and the next day an acoustic foretaste of Robert Francis at the finissage at the “art:ig” gallery will finish the evening. Robert Francis will present his full set on Wednesday night at the Backstage.

You’ll get time to relax on Thursday the 22nd at the German premiere of Sally Fitzgibbons’ documentary “Behind the Smile” as well as the premiere of “Beyond the Surface”, at 9pm at the “RIO-FILMPALAST”. Starting the weekend with a packed timetable – shape workshop, Isar beach clean-up, SUP tour at the Pilsenlake and live music. Behind the music is the band duo from “Kids of Adelaide & Ricky Dean Howard” again at the “STROM” starting at 8pm.

The final day of the Skate & Surf Festival Munich is fully dedicated to skateboarding. The Iriedaily skate contest will heat up the crowd at the Feierwerk, alongside a flea market will open outside. At 9pm the premiere of „Salt Trail“ along with the longboard premiere“Endless Roads“ form the open-air culmination at the “Olympia Lake”.
