Yamile is one of raddest riders in South America. She’s an amazing freerider and a really sweet person. We talked a little bit about her beginnings, trips, setups, the female community in Argentina and South America, and the North female crew. She had the chance to know many beautiful places in Argentina and Uruguay and shares her stories in those sweet spots. Get to know this awesome lady and her longboard adventures.

Hi Yamile! Full name, age and location please?
Hey! Yamile Isach, 21 years old, I am from Rosario, I have been living in Pinamar for 10 years, and it’s been a month since I started checking how life goes in Buenos Aires

How long have you been skating?
For 5 years now, since 2009.

What was your set up at that time, and how was the evolution since then?
I didn’t actually changed my setup that much… It used to be an argentinian pintail, with random trucks and wheels…after that I got a tech slide setup, used a Bhangra for a while and now I have a freeride setup, still with an argentinian board, RAD Wheels, Redz Bones Bearings and Bear Trucks.

That means that you did a wide variety of disciplines…did you do ALL of them?
Hahaha, kind of, trying to figure out if I was good at one of them…but no…I still need to experiment a little bit more with the downhill thing.

Have you travelled to skate?
Yes…luckily

What places?
Most of the times to competitions…Mar del Plata, Sierra de los Padres, Tandil, Rosario, Buenos Aires, Piríapolis, Montevideo!!

If you had to do a Top 5 with this places…how would that be?
Tandil, Sierra de los Padres, Piriápolis, Rosario, Mar del Pla

Do you have any other plan on travelling this year?
Not yet planned, but I definitely want to do all the trips I can, I hope I can get to Cordoba and go back to Uruguay…

How would you define Pinamar’s crew?
We’re a small crew! But definitely very close. We are a family…it has been almost a year since we created an association to make the sport grow a little bit more in our place, doing push races and events to spread the stoke to beginners or people that come to Pinamar on holiday…Lots of the guys are from Villa Gesell, and most of them have a 40 minutes bus ride to come and skate with us.

Are you the only girl in there? How does that feel?
The first couple of years I used to be the only one…now you have 2 more girls hahaha. I feel like another guy in there, they treat me like one of them and I like it, because they make me push myself a bit more.

What are the differences and similarities between all the longboard communities you have met?
Well…in most of the places that I have visited the communities are much bigger, so you can actually see different crews…some of them more open, some of them not so much…but in most of the cases you see the same, just good vibes.

And what about girls in other cities? How do you see that?
Well, every time that I go to a new place, it is really difficult finding girls skating…but we are growing, and you can see lots of girls that really want to skate and have no fear.

Last year you were in a clinic in Buenos Aires, that day of the LGC South American meeting in March. How did that came up?
Talking with Valeria Kechichian she told me her idea, and any excuse to skate and travel is good…so I went there! I liked the idea of travelling and meet new people, seeing all the girls that I always saw in videos!

How did it feel sharing knowledge and experience with the girls that went there?
It was definitely cool, I felt that every girl wanted to learn stuff immediately and practise things in that moment…I remember that after that moment, when we were at the Libano’s hill, a girl showed up and asked me to teach her how to do a fs 180…she did that immediately! Five minutes later she came again and asked me how to do the bs 180 haha.

What did you like the most about the meeting?
Having the chance to meet and share two days with the other girls that were helping with the clinic… Sowi, Pera, Valeria, Manuela B and Manuela S...it was sooooo awesome! We didn’t stop for a second, all the time going to different places, lots of people! I felt kind of like a countryside girl with all the city mess, however it was awesome having the girls in there, I didn’t wanted to leave! The thing I care the most about the meeting is that it gave me lots of incredible friends, and showed up new paths to keep on visiting places and skating…

If you look outside of Argentina, how do you see the female community in the north?
Awesome, most of my longboard idols are from there.

Which Argentinian females do you admire?
Manu Bayugar, Pauli Rulli, Magda Blanc, Cami Puchetta, Poli Wiaggio, and most of the ones that do it with passion…from all of them I get something, the speed, the technique, but mostly the passion.

And from outside?
Alicia, Carmen, Micaela, Cindy, etc.

Did you met with many foreign skater girls?
Not much…the only ones I met are the girls from Uruguay. Sowi and Pera, the beautiful TichoCrew

I wanna mainly thank my family that always support me with everything they can, also the guys grom the ATLP (Asociación TablaLarga Pinamar), they are my family since I started skating and they always take care of me…ando also the guys from Buenos Aires, I recently moved to the city and they are really cool. Hola Yamile! Nombre completo, edad, y de donde sos!
Alo! Yamile Isach, 21 años, soy de Rosario, vivo hace 10 años en Pinamar, y hace un mes estoy probando la vida en la city porteña…

Hace cuánto empezaste a patinar?
Hace 5 años, en el 2009

Como era tu setup en ese momento y como fue la evolución hasta ahora?
No pase por muchos setups… Mi setup era una tabla nacional con forma de pintail pero con tail, con trucks y ruedas genéricos… Después pase por un setup de tech slide, un tiempo use una bhangra y ahora tengo un setup para freeride, tabla nacional, ruedas rad con rules redz y trucks bear…

O sea que fuiste cambiando de modalidades…pasaste por todas?
Jajaja, algo así, probando si era buena en alguna… pero no… todavía me falta experimentar dh!!

Has viajado puntualmente por patinar?
Si…por suerte.

A qué lugares?
La mayoría de las veces viaje a competencias… Mar del Plata, Sierra de los Padres, Tandil, Rosario, Buenos Aires, Piriapolis, Montevideo!!

Si tuvieras que poner estos lugares en un TOP 5, cómo los pondrías?
Tandil, Sierra de los Padres, Piriápolis, Rosario, Marpla

Tenés algún viaje más pensado para este año?
Planeado todavía nada, pero sí, pienso hacer todos los viajes que pueda, espero poder ir a cordoba y volver a Uruguay…

Como es la crew en pinamar?
Somos re pocoooooos! Y re unidos! Somos una familia… Hace casi un año formamos una asociación para que el deporte crezca un poco más en nuestra ciudad, haciendo pateadas y eventos para incluir a los que recién empiezan o los que van a vacacionar a Pinamar… Muchos de los chicos son de Villa Gesell, y casi todos los días hacen 40 minutos de bondi para venir a patinar.

Sos la única nena ahi? Qué se siente?
Los primeros años si era la única, ahora hay una o dos mas jajaja… Me siento un pibito más, me tratan como uno más también, y eso me gusta, porque me obligan a patinar a la par suya…

Qué similitudes y qué diferencias ves en las comunidades de longboard en los lugares que has ido?
Y… a casi todos los lugares que fui los grupos son muchisimo mas grandes, así que se ven varias banditas o “crews”… Algunas son más abiertas, otras son un poco más reservadas… Pero en la mayoría se ve lo mismo que es la buena onda entre ellos…

Y en cuanto a las chicas en otras ciudades? Cómo ves ese tema?
Y… cada vez que voy a un lugar me cuesta encontrar pibas que patinan, pero cada vez somos más, y se nota que hay pibas con muchas ganas y poco miedo!!

El año anterior diste una clínica de tech slide en Buenos Aires en el LGC Meeting que se hizo en marzo. Como surgió eso?
Hablando con Vale, me contó su idea y cualquier excusa para viajar y patinar es buena, así que le encaré! Me cebaba la idea viajar y conocer gente completamente nueva, ver en persona a las pibas que siempre admiré por videos!

Qué se sintió transmitir conocimientos a todas las chicas que fueron?
Estuvo bueno, se sentía como todas querían aprender cosas de toque y pasar a la práctica en ese momento… Me acuerdo en ‘Líbano’ que una chica me pidió que le enseñe el 180° de front, se lo enseñé y lo sacó de toque, subió re feliz y me pedía desesperada que le enseñe el 180° de back!! Todas aprendimos algo nuevo…

Qué fue lo qué más te gustó del meeting?
Poder conocer y compartir dos días con las demás chicas que fueron a dar la clínica, Sowi, Pera, las Manus y Vale… Fue un finde zarpado! No paramos ni un segundo, todo el tiempo de acá para allá, mucha gente!! Me sentía una campesina en el medio de todo ese quilombo de ciudad, pero con las pibas se hizo muy llevadero y no quería irme ni loca! Lo que más rescato del meeting es que me dio amistades increíbles y me abrió las puertas para seguir conociendo lugares y gente para patinar!

Mirando hacia afuera, como ves a la comunidad femenina por el norte?
Uff, explotada, mis mayores idolas en el long son todas pibas de allá.

A qué mujer/mujeres de la Argentina admiras por cómo patinan?
Manu Bayugar, Pauli Rulli, Magda Blanc, Cami Puchetta, Poli Wiaggio, y casi todas las que le metan ganas… De todas rescato algo distinto, la rapidez, la prolijidad, la técnica, pero sobre todo el ovario que le ponen!

Y del exterior?
Alicia, Carmen, Micaela, Cindy, etc…

Conociste muchas chicas de otros países que patinen?
No muchas… Las únicas que conocí son las pibas de Uruguay!! Sowi y Pera, la hermosa TichoCrew.

Aguante la TichoCreeeeeew!!  Agradecer principalmente a mi familia que siempre me apoyan en todo lo que pueden, a los pibes de la ATLP (Asociación TablaLarga Pinamar) que son mi familia desde que pise una tabla y siempre me cuidaron y acompañaron en todas… Y a los pibes de Bs As, que ahora estoy instalandome en esta city y se están portando re bien.
