Hey Manuuu!! Please tell us your full name, age and location!
Hellooooo!! My name is Manuela Bayugar, I’m 15 years old and I’m currently living in Mar del Plata, Argentina.

How long have you been skating?
Hmmm… around 3 years and a half, maybe 4 years, actually I don’t remember.

Which are your current sponsors?
I’m sponsored by Factory Lab, an Argentinian brand that makes great boards, wheels and trucks, they have been supporting since the beginning. I also ride for Glock Shoes, they provide me with the best shoes; Up Rad dresses me and JeiB gloves, super comfy ones.

How did you get into longboarding?
I started because an ex boyfriend, which now I can say is a good friend of mine, gave me my first longboard, it was a homemade board that he made and at the beginning I hated it, with time I started to push and find that good feeling of getting used to the board.

Have you skated before or anything related with boards?
No, I always liked it but only from the outside. I’m just starting to skate ramps.

Which style do you prefer?
I think downhill skateboarding is what motivates me the most, but I also like freeride a lot! I’m trying to put more speed into my slides.

So… in which one do you think you are better at?
Both downhill and freeride, I’m trying to put everything into it, I think those styles are the ones I’m better at.

And freestyle? huh? huh?
I’m terrible at freestyle, the only thing I can do is Shove’its and their variations. I need a cool teacher like you so I can learn some freestyle!

Do you prefer to skate with girls or boys?
I like it better with guys because they motivate me a lot and they always push me to the edge. Even though I try to skate with girls as much as possible, but we don’t get together very often because the distances between us.

What would you say are the differences between both?
The craziness of guys can’t be compared to us because I think we are bit more calm hahaha, let’s say they are crazy and when they get together it just boost that up.

Did you meet many girls from other countries?
Yes, I met a couple of girls from Brazil, Chile and I met Katie Neilson who is my idol. I also met some girls from Uruguay who were very cool and nice and they just made me laugh so hard.

How were they?
They are really good at skating, each one has a different style and I love that. We had the best vibes together.

Which girls from other countries would you like to skate with?
I’d love to go downhill with Katie. Also I’d like to skate with Alicia Fillback, I still can’t believe how good she is, I’d try to follow her in freeride, though she would have to wait for me hahaha.

And what about the north girls, how do you see them?
They are great, someone to follow. I hope to skate with them some day.

How was the meeting last year? What did you think about it?
It was so good, I never thought there would be so many girls, I was surprised to see so many girls there, they all were super happy and excited. I had so much fun, I had never skated with so many girls at the same time.

What would you say about a new one this year? Hahaha
Yeeeess, I hope it can be done again. I’m sure the number of girls would be the double or more in comparison with last year. Now you can see more and more girls pushing around the coast.

Holaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Mi nombre es Manuela Bayugar, tengo 25 años y actualmente estoy viviendo en Mar del Plata, Argentina.

Hace cuánto que estás patinando ya?
Y… hace como 3 años y medio, 4 años, la verdad no me acuerdo.

Qué sponsors tenés ahora?

Como diste con el longboarding?
Empecé porque un ex novio, con el que hoy puedo decir que somos buenos amigos, me regaló mi primer tabla de long, era una tabla casera que la hizo él y al principio la odié, con el tiempo empecé a patear y a agarrarle el gustito de andar arriba de la tabla.

Anduviste en skate antes o algo?
No, siempre me gusto pero lo veía desde afuera, recién ahora estoy empezando a andar un poco en skate, en las rampas.

Qué modalidades preferís?
Creo que el downhill es lo que más me motiva, pero también me gusta mucho el freeride ahora estoy tratando de meterle mas velocidad a los derrapes.

En cuál crees que sos mejor?
Tanto en el downhill como en freeride estoy tratando de meterle con todo, creo que son en las disciplinas que más me destaco.

Y freestyle? EH? EH?
Soy malísima en freestyle, lo único que puedo hacer es el Shove’ it y sus variaciones. Necesito una profe copada como vos para aprender a hacer algo de freestyle.

Prefieres patinar con chicas o con chicos?
Me gusta más patinar con los chicos, porque me motivan muchísimo y siempre me llevan al límite, aunque siempre que puedo patino con chicas, pero no muy seguido nos juntamos por las distancias en las que estamos.

Qué diferencias dirías que hay entre ambos?
La limadura que tienen los chicos creo que es incomparable con nosotras que a mi parecer somo un poco más tranquilas jajaja, digamos que ellos están locos y cuando se juntan se potencian totalmente.

Conociste muchas chicas de otros países?
Si conocí a un par de chicas de Brasil, Chile y a Katie Neilson que es mi ídola. También conocí a unas uruguayas re personajes copadas que me hicieron morir de la risa.

Cómo las viste?
Patinan muy bien, cada una tiene su estilo diferente y eso me encanta. Y siempre entre todas hubo la mejor onda.

Con qué chicas de otros países te gustaría patinar?
Con Katie me encantaría poder hacer downhill, y con Alicia Fillback, todavia no puedo creer como patina esa chica, tratar de seguirle el paso haciendo freeride, aunque ella me tendría que esperar jajaja.

Y en cuanto a las chicas del norte, cómo las ves?
Alto nivel tienen, son unas ídolas, espero algún día poder patinar con ellas.

Qué onda el Meeting del año pasado? Qué te pareció?
Estuvo muy bueno, nunca pensé que iba a haber tantas chicas, me sorprendió la cantidad de chicas, estaban todas re contentas y super emocionadas. Me divertí muchísimo, nunca había patinado con tantas chicas juntas.

Qué dirías de otro este año? Jajaja
Siiiiii, ojalá se repita. Seguro la cantidad de chicas es el doble o más que el año pasado, acá cada vez se ven mas chicas pateando por la costa.
